The Tombs of the Kings Series 2003-2005
This series of work examined the beautiful architecture of the archeological site of the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos, Cyprus. It was a burial site for the wealthy people over two thousand years ago when the city of Paphos was the island’s capital city. The tombs were as elaborate as their homes. The paintings and drawings reflected the strong beliefs in an afterlife of this ancient civilization. Through this work Miriam also examined the process of abstraction through the structural forms of the tombs.
