Domestic Landscape series 2013-2016
This series of work marks the beginning of Miriam looking consciously at the personal and political in her work. It was work that spoke on a personal and a wider sociopolitical level. She allowed an object to become more profound, demand more attention if it was presented to the viewer in a particular way. The drawings and paintings examined to what extent our domestic rhythms and the objects that occupy these rhythms shape our memories and our emotional attachments.
