Miriam McConnon – Retrospective Exhibition at the Blue Iris Gallery, Paphos.
In February 2026, The Blue Iris Gallery in Paphos, Cyprus hosted a retrospective exhibition of Miriam McConnon’s work dating from 2016-2016.
A major theme of Miriam’s practice is the human experience of conflict, displacement, migration and the rebuilding of home. Her work often arises from direct engagement with individuals who have lived through war and how it effects the gendered nature of domestic life.
Miriam expresses her art through drawings and paintings of objects that carry heartfelt stories of those she interviews. She shows her work in exhibitions and installations both in Ireland and Cyprus as a testament to those who are displaced and whose understanding and concept of freedom is vastly different to ours.
